Trommels

At Reverter Industries, we offer a wide range of trommels designed for continuous and efficient rotational screening, suitable for processing a variety of materials, from cardboard to refined organic fractions and other recyclable materials. Our screening trommels are manufactured in various diameters, lengths, and customizable sieves according to each customer’s specific needs, ensuring optimal performance in all applications. We are distinguished by our unique flotation system in each trommel, which minimizes vibration and noise, reducing stress on the wheel axles. Furthermore, our equipment can be easily integrated with conveyor belts, optimizing material flow throughout the recycling process. The self-supporting structure of our trommels and the use of wear-resistant steel plates ensure a long lifespan and easy maintenance, ideal for maximizing productivity and durability in any recycling environment.

What function does a trommel play in the recycling process?

A trommel is a rotating, perforated drum that separates materials by size. As the waste moves forward with the drum’s rotation, the smallest waste falls through the openings, while the largest waste continues onward. This process is key to sorting materials before recycling or processing them.

Types of trommels

Every recycling project has unique needs, which is why we offer different types of trommels designed to adapt to different applications and working conditions. From the most robust and durable screening trommel for heavy-duty industrial applications to lighter and more portable versions, our trommels are designed to maximize efficiency in material sorting and processing. Discover our trommel options and choose the model that best suits your operational and mobility requirements, with the guarantee of quality and durability that characterizes our equipment.

TROM Trommel

Trómel TROM

The TROM is our standard and most robust model. This trommel is designed for heavy industrial applications requiring a solid and robust construction. It is ideal for processing bulky, abrasive or high-density materials. Its robust structure ensures a long service life, even in intense working environments with high operational demands.

TROL Trommel

Trómel TROL

On the other hand, the TROL is a lighter version of the TROM, specifically designed for applications where mobility and weight reduction are critical factors. Although lighter, the TROL does not sacrifice efficiency and is equally capable of handling industrial tasks, but with an optimized structure to facilitate transport and installation in different locations.

What types of materials can trommels process and in what applications are they used?

  • MSW (Municipal Solid Waste)

Domestic and commercial waste that requires efficient separation for recycling or disposal.

  • Industrial Waste

Manufacturing and production materials, including plastics, metals, and other reusable waste.

  • EELL (Light Packaging)

Plastics, Tetra Briks and other packaging that must be sorted by size before processing.

  • Metals

Fragments of aluminum, steel and other recoverable metals for reuse in industry.

  • Compost

Decomposing organic matter that is sieved to remove impurities and improve its quality as a fertilizer.

How to choose the right trommel for my recycling plant?

The choice depends on the type of material being processed, the workload, and operating conditions. For heavy or abrasive waste, it’s best to opt for a reinforced model with thicker drums. For lightweight materials, a more energy-efficient design is ideal. It’s also important to consider the drum diameter and length, the size of the openings, and the type of feed system.
