Material Characteristics

In a film recycling plant, the predominant materials are plastic films such as low density polyethylene (LDPE), high density polyethylene (HDPE), polypropylene (PP), among others. These plastic films can vary in thickness and may contain additives or pigments for various applications. The materials can come from industrial, commercial or domestic waste.

Process Description

The process begins with the reception and classification of plastic films according to type and quality, followed by shredding into small pieces and washing to remove contaminants. Next, the clean pieces are melted and extracted into new plastic sheets. These sheets can be cut into granules or pellets for use in the manufacture of products. Later, the material is filtered to remove impurities and dried to reduce humidity, before being packaged and stored.
